Rick Eye Forward is the online design blog of Rick Munoz.

I currently work for Bank of America, where I have been for two years as an Interaction Designer within the User Centered Design & Research group. I have done extensive work on the interface for the next-generation ATMs, as well as Online Banking. In my capacity as an ID, I frequently serve as a project lead within UCD&R, working together with a small team which includes a visual designer, editor, and usability engineer, as part of the larger project team which includes the LOB and Technology teams.

Previously, I worked for 4 years at Wells Fargo, as the lead ATM interface designer. As the head of a small team of designers, we were responsible for interaction, visual design, and production graphic, including extensive documentation and development archives.

Before that, I began my design career as a web & graphic designer, under the banner of my own firm, DesignPurity. I earned my stripes as an independent contractor working mainly for small businesses, and would often create the logo, collateral, and online presence for my clients.

After receiving my BA in Sociology from UC Berkeley, I worked my way into the world of design via numerous non-credentialed courses and trade schools in San Francisco and San Diego, where I studied everything from PERL and SQL coding to HTML and Flash design. Before long I began working on projects for friends, and soon expanded my business via referrals and my online portfolio.

Today, I look forward to continuing to expand my expertise in interaction design via academic and real-world learning. With this blog and my work, I hope to contribute both to my field and to the user experiences of all those who ultimately use the products that I design and influence.
